Happy Endings

Perry Piccolo was a rich kid who led a very nice, comfortable life, protected from most of the bad stuff in the world. One day, Perry went to the movies to see a film he'd been dying to see. The problem was that he arrived a bit late, just as the last ticket was being sold to a very poor looking boy. The boy had been saving for weeks to buy this ticket. Realising there was no ticket left for himself, Perry was furious, and started shouting and protesting, demanding that the boy hand his over.

The Magic Window

Once upon a time there was a little boy who became very ill. He had to spend all day in bed, unable to move. Because other children weren't allowed to come near him, he suffered greatly, and spent his days feeling sad and blue.There wasn't much he could do except look out of the window. Time passed, and his feeling of despair just grew. Until one day he saw a strange shape in the window. It was a penguin eating a sausage sandwich. The penguin squeezed in through the open window, said "good afternoon" to the boy, turned around, and left again.

The Sword of Peace

Once upon a time there was a precious sword. Now, this sword belonged to a great King, and for as long as anyone could remember, the King spent all his time in his palace, enjoying his shows and parties. One day a great dispute broke out between this King and the King of a neighbouring country. It ended with both declaring war.

Bula the traveller

Many years ago, a great lord called Bula recognised signs in the heavens; signs that had never been seen before. These omens announced the arrival of the greatest King the World would ever know. Amazed by the prospect of such power, the rich lord decided to set off in search of this King, intending to put himself at the King's service, and thus attain a position of importance in his future empire.

Bigmouth Fox

Penguin, Reindeer and Fox were great friends. One day, Penguin and Reindeer found a load of fruit, and decided to keep it a secret. On the way, they met Fox, who seeing them so happy, asked them why. They told him they couldn't say, because it was a secret, but Fox asked them to trust him, so they told him about the fruit.
When they arrived at the village, Fox forgot about his promise, and told everyone. When Penguin and Reindeer returned to the place where they had found the fruit, the animals of the village had already been there and eaten it all.

An Unexpected Arrival

There was a bit of a stir in heaven when Tatiana turned up. No one expected her; she was still young and, what's more, she was the mother of two small children. Saint Peter looked at her, very seriously.
"And what are you doing here? Surely it's not your time yet".

The Unlucky Merchant

There was once a merchant who, after years of bad business, was cursing his bad luck.
A traveller was passing by, and he asked the merchant what was troubling him. Hearing that the merchant was a man of great ill fortune, the traveller opened his knapsack and pulled out a strange-looking device made from two crystal glasses stuck together. They were decorated with strange drawings. One glass was green, and the other red, and inside each glass were some strange seeds, each the same colour as their glass.
"Well, you've just run into some good luck, meeting me," said the traveller. "This is exactly what you need: two little pots of luck."

Pillars of the Earth

There was once a boy who always treated his mother horribly, shouting at her, insulting her. It didn't matter to him how sad he made her.
One day, without knowing how, he woke up in an immense and lonely place. He was sitting on a rock from which four huge pillars rose up into the sky, appearing to support the entire world.
He was all alone, but soon an enormous flock of crows with beaks made of steel landed on the rock, and set about violently chipping away at it.
After the crows left, a mysterious door in one of the pillars opened, and through it came a charming and pretty girl.
